Haystack Rock

I took a trip up to Oregon & Washington for a couple weeks last month. It felt so much like HOME!!!! Oh how I miss everything about home...the beach, the green, the rain, my parents, the big city. It was just so nice to be on vacation!
This is haystack rock at Cannon Beach on the Oregon Coast. Scott & Whitney and Brian were there too, which made it so fun!
Nice pictures of McKay with grandpa
McKay has no fear when it comes to touching slimy things such as these sea anemones

Recent Happenings

Kimball's Grandma Twitchell turned 90 last week! We celebrated by eating and taking pictures. :)
McKay likes to nurse his baby while mommy nurses Nelson. Usually he even pulls his shirt up too. :)
Thanks to a great friend who asked if I would like to borrow this jumper/exersaucer, it now adorns our living room floor and Nelson LOVES it.
Nelson is eating solid foods now...he tried sweet potatoes today and the song that went through my head was, "A whole new world." ha ha. After almost 6 months of milk, I think he is excited for some new tastes.

Father's Day

Father's Day has come and gone, but I just wanted to show these pictures of my dad, Kimball's dad, and Kimball. I am so blessed to have these three men in my life. I don't see my dad often enough. I sure am glad for his positive influence in my life! Kimball's dad is a wonderful grandpa. We love to visit him! Kimball is a fabulous dad, and I can genuinely tell he loves to be called daddy! As the primary song says, "I'm so glad when daddy comes home!"

Bryce Canyon

We took advantage of June 9th being National Park FREE day and took a day trip to Bryce Canyon. We had so much fun together! We even ventured into a fairly difficult hike and McKay did so great for most of the time! Bryce Canyon is so beautiful. The weather was perfect today. We saw several foreigners from Europe and Asia. Three chinese women were enamored with our kids. They took pictures and kept talking about how cute they were. They were trying to speak English to us and so proud with everything they could say. :)

I loved the orange rocks next to the deep blue sky!

Nelson was probably glad that he didn't have to walk. :)

McKay found every little nook he could fit in

There were these trees growing right in between two tall cliffs. It was so neat, but the pictures don't really do it justice. During our hike, McKay kept saying, "this is so neat, mommy!" Very cute!!

Simple pleasures

Shaving cream is a real fun activity. I kept telling McKay every 10 seconds..."remember not to eat it."
McKay is our little cowboy who loves to hold his little sidekick, Nelson
McKay kept saying, "yummy, mommy" as he ate cream of broccoli soup. But I wonder how much of it actually got in his mouth....ha ha

4 Months

Nelson is a lot of fun! He is such a good baby. I can't believe it. He hardly ever cries and he has started sleeping 8-9 hours in a row at night!! Today was his 4 month check up, which went pretty well. He is doing great except that he hasn't gained any weight in a whole month! I am being completely honest when I tell people that I actually DO feed him!!!! :) So, the plan right now is to keep nursing him and just add one bottle a day. He does take a bottle once in a while, so I think this will work out just fine. We will check back in a couple weeks to see if he has put some chub on. The funny thing is that McKay sometimes will call Nelson "chubby buddy." It doesn't really apply though...apparently.
