24th of July parade

We spent the 24th of July (Utah holiday) in Enterprise for Kimball's family reunion. We had a great time! The Holts had a float in the parade. These pictures don't really do it justice, but you can take a look anyways.

The float was pulled by a milk truck (represents the dairy)

This was most of Kimball's immediate family on the float

The theme was "faith, family, farming"

The back said "cream of the crop"
There were hay bales, potato sacks, and black cow spots on the banners to represent all the types of farming that the Holts do. This was a lot of fun to help decorate.

Cousins

I am blessed to have great cousins. I attribute this to attending BYU for college. That is when I got a lot closer to most of the cousins my age. Here's some pictures (didn't get all my cousins on the trip, but some).

Thankful

Today I am thankful.

Thankful for good extended family, good friends, a good spouse (who lets me get away), and a good traveling companion (aka McKay).

I just returned from a great 3 day trip to Provo/Salt Lake. It was SO FUN!!! I was able to see lots of friends, old roommates, and family.

To be exact, I saw 36 members of my extended family, 3 best friends and their kids, and tons of CSU people from Primary's! And, this was not even a planned reunion of sorts. Just people who wanted to get together.

There was a lot of love felt in the past three days. McKay kept us all smiling, and I am grateful for the influence of good people in my life!! Pictures to come...

Dolls

At first, this was a fun bench to sit on...

Then he turned and saw that he was sitting next to....DOLLS!!!! (eww)

That called for a quick bee-line off that bench

Little Fish

McKay is our little fish. We have been to the pool many times this summer already, and we're excited to do the mommy & me swim class in a few weeks. Here's some pictures to enjoy:

Doesn't McKay look like a little stud in this one??

"Jumping in" with Grandpa

He's not quite sure why we have to take so many pictures

I put this one up mostly for myself to check out McKay's cute rolls :)

Other thoughts for today...It's July 4th weekend and we have had a blast. No pictures to show for it, but it's been great. We went to Panguitch on Saturday for a fun getaway (can't believe I am calling Panguitch a getaway, but nonetheless, it was). We went to the rodeo there. Today started out with a great ward breakfast and Cedar parade. Tonight we are having a BBQ with lots of great people in our ward and the fireworks show. I am excited!!

One last thought:
On our plane trip last week, McKay was only happy if he could suck on the seatbelt. I am sure that one of these days my kid is going to end up with some strange disease, but until then, it sure is nice to have a happy baby!

Hair trim

In a matter of minutes, I went from my hair looking like this

To looking like this

Kimball thinks I look like I'm holding bananas in this one

This is inspired by Locks of Love, a great organization for hair donation, and a little encouragement from the hair cutter. This is the shortest my hair has ever been, but it's okay. I told the hair cutter that by next year it will be just as long.

Brian

It was exciting to be there when Brian walked off the plane. I was a little sad for him that he had to come home to a different home. We had fun together, and I am sure Brian is excited to get back to BYU!
